Azerbaijan and Armenia report night battles in conflict zone

This night, the positions of Azerbaijani troops and border villages located in the Karabakh conflict zone were shelled with various weapons, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated today. Armenia has reported the artillery shelling of the positions of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Full-scale hostilities began in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 27. On October 26, a new agreement on a humanitarian truce in the Karabakh conflict zone entered into force, but already in the first hours after it, the parties exchanged accusations of violating the truce.

The situation in the conflict zone remains tense, the Azerbaijani MoD has stated. "At night on October 27, the Armenian Armed Forces, which failed to observe the new humanitarian ceasefire, shelled the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in different directions of the frontline and in the settlements located near the frontline zone from various types of weapons," the MoD has informed in its website today.

In their turn, Armenian authorities have claimed artillery battles. "During the night, a relatively stable and tense situation remained in the Artsakh-Azerbaijan conflict zone. Artillery battles continued in some front sections," the United Information Centre of Armenia has written on the Facebook today.

In the evening, Azerbaijani troops actively used drones, the publication says, adding: "Currently, local battles are going on in some sections of the frontline."
